Altough it's a village which has grown enormously in the last few years, the new builidings mantain the old traditional style: colorful with structures made of stone and wood.

There's a tour around the indiano houses. Altough most of the route is in Ribadedeva, many of the most significant builidings are in Colombres. Indianos, asturian emigrants who became wealthy in America, built in their hometown hugh and onstentaious houses, surrounded by gardens with palm trees. They were very important people who funded many of the public works and infraestrucures of their time: schools, roads, squares and other.
